Description:
Wild Ginger is found near creeks and springs from the Santa Cruz Mountains north to British Columbia. Dark green, heart shaped leaves form a thick groundcover. Leaves are not edible, but do give off the scent of Ginger when crushed. Tolerant of heavy soils. Lovely planted among shade loving shrubs, perennials, and ferns like Huckleberry, Coral Bells, and Chain Ferns.
