Botanic Name:
Eriogonum arborescens
Common Name:
Santa Cruz Island Buckwheat
Size: 4'h x 4'w
Sun: Sun
H20: Occ.H2O/dry
Description:
This compact evergreen shrub forms a dense mound. Narrow gray green foliage lends an unusual texture to the dry garden. Pale pink flowers in summer dry to a striking rust color in fall. Seed heads can be removed, but that would take away from this plant's ornamental appeal. Well drained soil is best, but tolerates some clay, as long as you don't water it.
