Description:
This enticing perennial is found, in varying forms, throughout much of California. The flowers on ours are a bright pink, with darker veins. It blooms in spring and summer, with flowering stems held 8" above a mat of dark green, glossy leaves. Checker Bloom does best in full sun or light shade, with occasional summer water, but will simply go dormant with drought, only to appear next spring. A nice plant to use with native grasses.
