Botanic Name:
Salvia apiana
Common Name:
White Sage
Size: 3'h x 3'w
Sun: Sun
H20: Summer dry
Description:
This plant brings a sense of drama to the dry garden. Cool and unassuming in the fall and winter this 3' evergreen shrub shoots up 8' spikes of white flowers in late spring and early summer. If in full sun and poor soil, flowering stems should be flushed with pink. Spectacular in a moon garden or with night lighting, extremely drought tolerant, and perhaps the most deer resistant of all our natives. Grow in full sun w/ good drainage. Foliage is strongly scented. A favorite!
