Common Name:
Giant Western Chain Fern
Size: 6'h x 4'w
Sun: shd-pt. shd

Description:
This large coarse terrestrial fern is native to Mexico, North America and Canada in canyons below 5000 ft. A moist coastal canyon lush with these 7 foot ferns is a breathtaking sight. It will usually reach 4 feet tall and wide or so in a garden setting, and can develop multiple clumps of leaves with age. It does well with some sunlight - the closer to the coast, the more it will take. Cold hardy. When in a pot, it appreciates a well drained mix and constant moisture.
