Salvia brandegei
Common Name:
Santa Rosa Island Sage
Size: 6'h x 6'w
Sun: sun
H20: summer dry
Description:
A shrubby Salvia reaching to a height of 6 to 7 ft. and wide spreading. The pale lavender flowers make a striking contrast with the dark buds and flower stems. The leaves are a deep green, giving this salvia an attractive appearance even when not in flower. Prefers full sun and dry conditions. Useful as a background shrub, an informal hedge or can be pruned to drape over a wall. Extremely deer resistant, as are all native sages. Cut back each summer after flowering for a nicer plant the following year.
