Botanic Name:
Aquilegia eximia
Common Name:
Summer Columbine
Size: 5'h x 2'w
Sun: sun-shd
H20: occ.H2O/moist
Description:
Almost identical to the Western Columbine, Summer Columbine differs in growing taller and blooming later, generally July to September. The flowers are held on 6 foot tall stalks, making it well suited for the back of a flower bed that receives sun or light shade and regular summer water. We have found that the flowering stalks sometimes need staking, particularly in rich soil.
