Description:
A shrubby perennial that stays from 1-2 feet tall. The tubular flowers are a brick red color attractive to hummingbirds. In this area the flowers appear from June through October. This native to dry slopes and chaparral of the Coast Ranges and Central Valley is found locally at Stevens Creek Canyon, Mt. Umunhum, Loma Prieta and Eagle Rock. Little or no summer water, full sun and well-drained soil are preferred.
