Description:
This low-growing plant is native to the coast from Central California to Alaska. Shiny green leaves tinged with red form a dense cover. Small white flowers are followed by showy red fruit with little flavor. (If you are planting strawberries to eat, the Woodland Strawberry is much tastier). Grows in full sun and dry soil in coastal conditions, but inland will need summer water to look its best. Spreads easily by runners to fill spaces between rocks or larger plants.
