Description:
This buckwheat forms a neat mound of greygreen leaves about 1' high and 2-3' wide . It blooms in late spring and early summer holding dense clusters of brilliant yellow flowers a few inches above the leaves. Evergreen, it takes full sun, and tolerates a wide range of soil types. Sulphur Buckwheat is drought tolerant but may need supplemental summer water in hot areas. Hardy to 0 degrees or less, and native to the Sierra Nevadas.
