Description:
This willow is rare in California. It is found on serpentine soil along streams, in the far northern Siskiyou Mountains. The broadly elliptical leaves are unusually silvery and fur-covered. It is adapted to hot dry areas and can provide a leaf-colored foil to the normally green-leafed shrubs of wet areas. Good near a pond or along a dry stream border. This willow will grow to about six feet in height.
