Botanic Name:
Rubus parviflorus
Common Name:
Thimble Berry
Size: 4'h x 4'w
Sun: Shd-pt. shd
H20: Occ.H2O/moist
Description:
This shrub has large felty maple-like leaves, grows 4' to 6' high and is deciduous. It has small, white, rose shaped flowers in spring. These give rise to bright red berries which are much like raspberries, but which fit on the end of your finger, as its common name suggests. As with all of our local berries it thrives with water but does fine in drier conditions, making it a candidate for the dry shade garden.
