Botanic Name:
Nassella cernua
Common Name:
Nodding Needle Grass
Size: 3'h x 1'w
Sun: sun
H20: occ.H2O/dry
Description:
Found throughout the state, the Nodding Needle Grass' delicate appearance belies its tough nature. Its slim foliage and airy flowers make this one of our most delicate appearing grasses. Tolerant of full sun or light shade and complete drought, it will nonetheless look lusher with occasional extra water. We recommend a patch of at least three to five plants to have an impact. Lovely with native annuals sown or planted in between, or as a foil for some of our lower native perennials like Blue Bedder Penstemon or Seaside Daisy. Great under oaks!
