Description:
This wide ranging species is most often found on rocky slopes and along streambanks, or in situations where the wandering roots can find unseen moisture. It is a rapid grower during the summer and fall months, dying back after the first few frosts. Flowers appear at summers end, their orange-scarlet trumpets a favorite of humming birds. In your garden, provide good drainage, and full sun. When established it is drought tolerant.
