Description:
A rapid growing low perennial herb, Prunella vulgaris has leaves one to two inches long and stems four to twelve inches high. The flowers are in a dense group, violet to purple, one half inch or longer. It is found in moist woods and ditches below 7500 feet . A very rapid growing ground cover for semi shady areas. According to Irish traditional medicine, Self Heal is good for jaundice, ulcers, internal and external wounds, and with oil of roses and vinegar it can cure headaches. Did we mention it was rapid growing?
