Description:
Of all the spring forest lilies, trilliums are among the best. They grow from deep seated rhizomes which slowly increase the size of the clump. An old clump may bear more than a dozen flowering stalks at once. The Coast trillium is characterized by a short pedicel above the leaves. Flowers open pure white and then fade deep rose at the end of a week. They are fall and winter dormant. They are wonderful in a mass and thrive with summer water and shade. Plant them with ferns, rhododendrons, wood roses, redwood sorrel and wild ginger.
