Description:
This gray-leaved, spreading perennial is found along the coast and in meadows and oak forests around the Bay Area. Its vertical form provides a strong accent when combined with the flowing forms of native bunchgrasses. It can spread underground, but isn't usually a pest unless it gets lots of water. Summer and fall dormant.
