Description:
This selection is a very dark blue flowered form of our Feltleaf Ceanothus from the Channel Islands. This species is one of the earlier blooming, displaying large clusters of fragrant, deep blue flowers from January to March. It is best in coastal gardens, although it can be grown inland with afternoon shade. Deer come from miles around to eat this plant, so don't even think about planting it unless you can protect it from them. An extremely fast grower, up to 4 feet a year. Reaches 15-20 feet tall and wide, and can be pruned into a beautiful small tree.
