Botanic Name:
Penstemon heterophyllus 'Blue Springs'
Common Name:
'Blue Springs' Penstemon
Size: 2'h x 3'w
Sun: sun
H20: occ.H2O/dry
Description:
Similar to the popular 'Margarita BOP' selection of the Blue Bedder Penstemon, this selection has the purest blue flowers of any of the selections of this species. Like its relatives, it has a compact habit to about 2 by 3 feet, profuse blooms, and is drought, water, and deer tolerant! Provide anywhere from 4-5 hours a day to full baking sun. Pruning after flowering will encourage a more compact plant, and more flowers. Prune again in March as new growth is beginning.
