Description:
Selected by Carol Bornstein from the Monterey coast, this Lessingia has proven to be a fast growing, dense groundcover adaptable to a variety of conditions. Reaching 1 foot tall and spreading to 4 feet across, it has silvery foliage and pink daisy-like flowers in summer and fall. Drought, salt and wind tolerant on the coast, it thrives in full sun inland as well provided it gets occasional water. Takes clay soil too. The 'Silver Carpet' Beach Aster is especially well placed on a slope or near a wall it can spill over.
